Yippee Kay-Yay

Cinemas in Japan have special discounts. Every Wednesday is Ladies' day, couples over 50 go for half price and so on. On the first of each month, tickets are £5 for everyone, so it's always a popular day. Especially when it falls on the weekend, like yesterday - 1st July, 2007. Furthermore, cinemas have special seats, not just the premiere seats but "super couple premiere" seats. We tried them after everyone left, and not actually that comfy. Plus, no drink holder. Big mistake.

On our way to the box office in Odaiba, look who I bumped into!

We went to see Die Hard 4.0 aka Live Free or Die Hard. I didn't expect much from it, but it was absolutely fantastic - highly recommended. A proper classic action movie that's original, never makes you look at your watch and, most importantly, has a memorable set piece never more than five minutes away.

And look at the view when you exit the cinema; I'm not giving anything away when I say that, like John McClane, it's unbeatable.

Oliver and I went to see the latest film starring your new green friend this evening and I am sorry to say that it did not match up to your review of Die Hard. I would be interested to learn what other viewers of your blog thought of Shrek the Third.

P.S. As Oliver said, a nice welcome back to 'curtains'. Have you been clipping your hair back every night then?

Not heard great things about Shrek, but Die Hard 4 was great.

As for Pirates 3, Seb, they started filming without a completed script. That's not the most encouraging start to an 'intelligent' movie.
