With A Little Understanding...

...You can find the perfect blend. Or should that be Channel?

Absolutely nothing to do with Japan, but I heard that Neighbours is moving to Channel 5. The BBC have been the main factor to keep that soap going all these years, and then Fremantle try to charge them over double per new episode. Rather mean, methinks.

Scott and Charlene. Neighbours and Five. A match made in heaven?

Actually, I don't really care.

Over four times as much, in fact. The BBC currently pay around £25K per episode, and the "bidding" was up to £100K when the BBC dropped out.

It's not been the death knell for Home & Away, moving to Five, but then H&A is far more popular than Neighbours in its native Australia and the only thing giving Neighbours any credibility whatsoever is that the Brits (are stupid enough to) watch it.

Fremantle - owned by RTL
Five - owned by RTL

Coincidence, I think not...
