Google Loves Me

And I love Google. It's, without a doubt, the best search engine out there, and part of the greatest invention in my lifetime; the Internet. I was only this morning thinking that I had a portal, the computer screen, that could tell me so much about the outside world without ever having to leave my room. Crazy when you really think about it.

Googling yourself seems a vain thing to do. The computer age version of looking in the mirror too long, or listening in to people discuss whether you're popular.

But every once in a while, I check how this blog fares. Google and the rest of them have secret algorithms (I don't know what it means, so they wouldn't have to be too discreet with the codes, I'm sure) to determine the ranking of pages in searches. I type the key words or places that I've been writing about.

Usually, Wikipedia/YouTube etc come first then I'm somewhere on the second or third page of results. But...

I just typed in "Yamanote 29" and I'm result...

drum roll, please....

Number Two! Which is good, because number one is titled Yamanote29.

I'm popular!
